Emerald Athletic Club is based in Limerick and we cater for young athletes from age 8 upwards. We train at the University of Limerick Sports Arena, Castletroy, Co Limerick. New members are welcome.

Double gold for Emerald boys at Nenagh |
NENAGH, Sunday 7th February 2010 - Two Emerald athletes won brilliant golds at Munster Juvenile Indoor Championships at Nenagh today.
Mark Bromell won the U13 Boys Shot with a fantastic personal best of 10.44 metres. And Jamie Mitchell took gold in the U12 Boys 60m, winning his first ever Munster title in superb style.
Other excellent performances included Gearoid Mitchell, who took 4th in the U13 Boys High Jump, 6th in the Shot Putt and 8th in the 60m Hurdles.
On Saturday, there were great final performances by Kate Cosgrave (5th - U13 Girls 600m), Bronagh Kelly (4th - U11 Girls 60m) and Ciara Neville (5th - U12 Girls 60m).

Mike Kirwan wins Service to Sport award |
LIMERICK, Friday 29th January 2010 - At a presentation ceremony in the Strand Hotel, Emerald secretary and coach Mike Kirwan deservedly won a Service to Sport award for his oustanding contribution to Community Games and Athletics.
Overall, 12 people, from a variety of sports, won awards this year. Mike was joined at the ceremony by his wife, Monica and several Emerald coaches.

Emerald athletes run for Limerick |
CARRIG NA BHFEAR, Sunday 17th January 2010 - Emerald had good representation today at the Munster Inter-County Relays at Carrig Na Bhfear near Cork city.
Caroline Leahy helped the Limerick U12 Girls to 4th place, and Jamie Mitchell ran as competitively as ever for the U12 Boys team.
In the U14s, Niamh Reynolds, Jenna Bromell and Niamh Brennan (left) helped the Limerick Girls take a great bronze.
