The excitement is building at Emerald AC as our juvenile athletes gathered to give Ciara and Sarah a huge send-off ahead of the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, taking place from 10–16 August 2026.

What an incredible achievement for our club! 💚

Ciara has been selected to represent Ireland in the 100m and the 4x100m Relay Team, while Sarah will proudly wear the Irish vest in the 100m Hurdles. For a club of our size, having two athletes representing Ireland at a major European Championship is truly outstanding and is a proud moment in the history of Emerald AC.

Our young athletes were thrilled to wish Ciara and Sarah the very best of luck before they head to Birmingham. Seeing two of our own competing on one of Europe's biggest athletics stages is an inspiration to every one in our club and a reminder that with hard work, dedication,  consistency and belief, what can be achieved.

We couldn't be prouder of both Ciara and Sarah. You are fantastic ambassadors for Emerald AC, your community, and Irish athletics.
