Emerald AC old boy Nathan Cremin delivered a magnificent performance last night in the USA, competing for his college Montreat. Nathan produced a superb personal best of 1:46.45 in the 800m at the Wake Forest Invitational — a fantastic achievement!

Massive congratulations to Nathan, who continues to go from strength to strength over 800m.

Nathan’s journey began with St Mary’s AC Newcastlewest before progressing through Emerald AC. His dedication, commitment, and relentless work ethic were evident from a young age, with many cold winter nights spent training at the University of Limerick laying the foundations for his success.

From starting athletics at just 8 years old, Nathan has gone on to earn a scholarship with Montreat College in the USA, where he has achieved incredible success — including becoming an All-American Champion over 1k and placing 4th in the All-American DMR.

Nathan was also honoured by his college as Athlete of the Year, recognising the outstanding year he has had — and continues to have.

Everyone at Emerald AC is incredibly proud of Nathan and delighted for him and his coaches at Montreat College.
