Emerald AC Athletes Shine at the National Senior Championships

What a fantastic weekend for Emerald AC at the National Senior Athletics Championships in Morton Stadium, with our athletes once again proving that hard work, dedication and perseverance truly pay off.

A huge congratulations to Ciara on an outstanding performance in successfully defending her National Senior 100m title, storming to victory in a superb 11.44 seconds. Winning one national title is a remarkable achievement, but to return from injury and claim back-to-back championships is truly inspirational. Ciara's journey reminds us all that setbacks don't define us—our determination to keep believing, working and chasing our dreams does. She continues to set the standard for Irish sprinting and is a wonderful role model for our young athletes.

Congratulations also to Sarah on another dominant display in the 100m hurdles, retaining her national crown in emphatic fashion. Sarah secured an incredible 11th National Outdoor Senior title, a testament to her consistency, professionalism and relentless pursuit of excellence. Year after year she continues to perform on the biggest stage, and her achievements have made her one of Emerald AC's greatest ambassadors. We are incredibly proud to have such a true champion wearing the green and white.

Well done to Sophie Moroney and Rachel Hosey who representing the club in the 1500m senior ladies competing in probably the hottest field for a 1500m women’s national race over the last few years. The club is very proud to have you competing and you are an inspiration to our Middle-Distance juvenile athletes, well done ladies.  

A special well done also goes to our Men's Senior 4×400m Relay Team of Conall Watson, Sean McCarthy, Lorcan O'Connor and Gavin Dillon, who battled hard to finish 4th against the country's best. Relay events are built on teamwork, trust and commitment, and it was fantastic to see Emerald AC represented so proudly on the national stage. Seeing our club colours carried around Morton Stadium by a senior relay team is something every member of the club can be proud of.

At Emerald AC, success is measured not only by medals but by the example our athletes set for the next generation. Our senior athletes continue to inspire our juvenile members, showing them what can be achieved through years of consistent training, resilience, commitment and belief in the process. Every training session, every challenge overcome and every race competed in helps build the champions of tomorrow.

To Ciara, Sarah, Conall, Sean, Lorcan and Gavin, Rachel and Sophie—thank you for representing Emerald AC with such pride, passion and professionalism. You are outstanding ambassadors for our club, and every member of Emerald AC is incredibly proud of your achievements.
