Congratulations to Emerald AC athlete Lelia on a fantastic performance at the National Juvenile Track & Field Championships, where she proudly represented the club in the U15 Girls' 1500m.

Competing at a National Championship for the first time is a major milestone in any young athlete's career. Lelia rose to the occasion with a determined performance, finishing 14th in Ireland against an exceptionally strong field of the country's best middle-distance runners.

The quality of the race was evident, with many of the athletes having previous National Championship experience. For Lelia, the day was about much more than the finishing position. It was an opportunity to experience the atmosphere, intensity and standard of competition at the highest level of juvenile athletics in Ireland—experience that will prove invaluable in the years ahead.

Lelia's progress over the past 12 months has been remarkable. She has improved her 1500m personal best from 5:35 to 5:06, a huge improvement that reflects her commitment, consistency and willingness to learn.

Success in middle-distance running is built over time, and it typically takes several years of structured, consistent training to become competitive at national level. This season marks only the beginning of Lelia's journey, and her qualification for and performance at the National Championships is a significant achievement.

Everyone at Emerald AC is immensely proud of Lelia's performance and the dedication she has shown throughout the season. It is also a proud moment for the club, as she becomes one of the first Emerald AC middle-distance athletes in several years to compete at the National Track & Field Championships.
