What a year for our star athletes and coaches!! < Back Emerald Star Athletes and Coaches Celebration Bash Next James Prendeville 28 Dec 2023 Previous What a year for our star athletes and coaches!! A fantastic evening was had this evening to recognise and celebrate the wonderful achievements of Sarah, Rosin and their coaches Noelle, Haley and Drew and to appreciate the joy and excitement they gave us over the last few years and especially in most recent times. Sarah blew us away with her performances especially this year. To be the fastest women in Ireland, to hold two national records is truly amazing. What an achievement, we are so very proud of you. What a fabulous athlete and ambassador for Irish athletics, our club, and the people of Limerick. We are all so very very proud of our wonderful champion Sarah. And on top of all that, to add to Sarah’s impressive season: 1. In the world championships in August this year(2023) in Budapest, Sarah broke the 100m hurdles national record held by another great Irish athlete Derval O’Rourke in a super time of 12.62. 2. And on the 4th September this year (2023) in Switzerland Sarah broke the national record for the 100m in a time of 11.27 becoming the fastest women in Ireland. Congratulations and well done to you Sarah. Also Roisin was part of the 4x400meters relay team finishing in fantastic time of 3:27.08. Roisin and her team finished in top 8th at the world championships We are so proud that you wear our club colours and compete for Emerald AC. Congratulations and thank you Rosin Next

First time for all athletes to run in the Munster A. < Back Emerald Juveniles compete in Munster A Cross Country Next James Prendeville 2 Nov 2025 Previous First time for all athletes to run in the Munster A. Today was the first time in many years that Emerald AC had our Juvenile Athletes compete in the Munster A Cross Country Championships held in Two Mile Borris Tipperary. We had the following athletes competing today . Andrew Foster in the Boys u13, Alianna Walters and Rebecca O'Sullivan in the Girls u13. In the u15 girls we had Emma Creagh, Amelia Cremin and Cerys O'Connor and in the Senior Women was Rachel Hosey. Many congratulation to all athletes. 17 Juveniles compete < Back Emerald Juveniles & Senior Women compete in Limerick Even Age Cross Country Next James Prendeville 28 Sept 2025 Previous 17 Juveniles compete Well done to all athlete's who competed today. Everyone finished their races and ran really well. In the Girls U10 -1000M we have a strong quartet of Isabelle Duggan, Evann O'Connor, Ylva Foley and Lily Bourke all running really well. In the Boys U10 - 1000M we had Malcom Kiely and Teddy Dillion flying around the course. The Boys U12 -2000M included Rossa Bond and Andrew Foster running hard all the way. The Girls U14 - 3000M included Ava Foley, Lelia McInerney, Erin O'Shaughnessy all running strongly and tearing up the course and special mention to Rebecca O'Sullivan who ran out of age and had a great finish. The Boys U14 - 3000M included Donagh Bond and Seam foley showing great promise for the future. In the Boys U16 - 4000M, we had Cathal Duggan and Daniel O'Sullivan flying the club colors and fighting to the end over the longer distance of 4000m. In the Senior women many congratulations to Sophie Moroney who a fantastic second place after a great run. As this is the first year in a while that the club has started the distance training group only in August this Year, the coaches were delighted to see so many of our athletes competing. Sarah does it again, another European Final < Back Sarah Shines Next James Prendeville 5 Mar 2023 Previous Sarah does it again, another European Final Sarah Lavin shows her class!!! Sublime Sarah powered her way into women's 60m hurdles final at the European Indoors Athletics Championships in Turkey. Sarah had a great run in her semi-final acheiving a time of 7.99 to reach Sunday evening's final. Sarah continues to make major athletics finals after qualifying for the 100m hurdles final at the European Athletics Championships in Munich last August and the World Indoor Championships 60m hurdles final in Belgrade last March. Afterwards in an interview with BBC Sport, Sarah said: "To be heading into a major final among them, I'm blessed, honoured and I just want to do a better performance.' Sarah said she was hopeful of being able to run a faster time in this evening's European Indoor final. "I'm optimistic I can," she said. "Every athlete is confident, it's only natural. I'm optimistic that if we can sort that first hurdle and I can get there - I don't even mean like ahead - just around the same time, then it's all to play for." Sarah has set her personal best for the 60m hurdles indoors of 7.95 at the World Indoor Tour Gold meet in Madrid last month. Next

Two Emerald AC teams compete < Back Emerald Juveniles kick off the cross country season Next James Prendeville 21 Sept 2025 Previous Two Emerald AC teams compete We were without Finn Mac(injured) and Donagh Bond for the 4 x 500m U13 boys XC in Bilboa. So, many thanks to Rossa Bond who jumped age groups and finished with a sprint. And thanks to Rebecca O’Sullivan for stepping in to fill the gaps. Sean Foley ran a superb 1st leg and kept pace for 300m with some national level runners. Very gritty running from everyone with Luke Naughton and Rebecca putting in top notch runs in the final 2 legs. A very steady and strong run in the 4 x 500 XC relay from Lelia McInerney, Amelia Cremin, Erin O’Shaughnessy and Emma Creagh which gave them a bronze medal. They were competing against toughened XC runners in the first XC event for all 4 team members. Next

Great Day for Emerald Athletes in County XC - First Team medals in Cross Country < Back Emerald Juvenile Distance Athletes Compete in NCW Cross Country Next James Prendeville 9 Nov 2025 Previous Great Day for Emerald Athletes in County XC - First Team medals in Cross Country Juliette Naughton started off the day for the club running a fine race showing great potential for the future. This was followed by the Girls U13 team with Rebecca O'Sullivan, Saorise O'Brien and Alianna Walters all running great races. A strong U13 girls team is developing. Next up was the boys U13 team winning their first cross country medal, in the team was Sean Foley, Luke Naughton and Andrew Foster, super running by the lads and congratulations. Then we had the girls U13 team of Erin O'Shaughnessy, Cerys O'Connor and Emma Creagh all ran brilliantly in very soft running conditions and got 3rd place in the team race. Special mentions goes Saorise O'Brien and Juliette Naughton running the first cross country race both running a fantastic races. Well done ladies!!! Next

Training Times Emerald AC are based out of UL Track in Limerick. . 2021 - The great man Frank O'Mara visits his old training ground and meets up for a chat with current Emerald AC Athletes JUVENILE TRAINING SCHEDULE General U6- U15 Training for all the club takes place every Sunday Morning at 11am - 12 noon UL Track. JUNIOR & SENIOR TRAINING SCHEDULE Sprint and Distanc e Training General U16+Training for all the club takes place every Sunday Morning at 10am and on Wednesday nights at 7pm at UL Track. ELITE ATHLETE TRAINING Elite Training occurs at UL track most nights from 7pm and on Saturday at 11am and Sunday at 10am.
